In Native America animals provide us with important things like food, clothing, tools and shelter. Some animals are considered sacred and deserve our highest respect. We say prayers for these animals and thank them for their life before preparing their meat for celebrations and everyday meals. From seals in the north to sheep in the southwest, animals and their meat are an important part of Native cuisine and culture.
