Native Americans have really made a splash on the contemporary music scene,  including the world of jazz. For over a decade GRAMMY winning recording artist John-Carlos Perea (Mescalero Apache/Chicano) has created music that not only blends music styles but instruments and sounds from Native American culture like the cedar flute and powwow singing.
