Native artists rely on a mix of skill, inspiration, business savvy and perseverance. On this show we go live from the campus of the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in Santa Fe, New Mexico to hear from Native artists themselves about what their job is.
Native people jump into the art world for different reasons. Some see it as a way to educate the masses about our tribal nations. For others, it’s a form of personal expression. We also want to hear what you feel is the most important duty Native artists fill. What influence do you feel Native artists have on our tribal nations and in urban settings with their creations?
