After more than a century, a pending update to the Buy Indian Act could provide a major boost for Native contractors and other Native-owned businesses doing business with the U.S. Department of Interior. One key provision of the update would clear regulatory hurdles for Native contractors working with the Indian Health Service and prioritize hiring Native labor.
