The International Leonard Peltier Defense Committee is mounting another campaign to convince President Barack Obama to grant Peltier clemency before he leaves office. Peltier was convicted of murdering two FBI agents in 1977. He was denied parole in 2009. Amnesty International calls for his release, citing serious concerns about the fairness of the legal case against him. But others, including the federal government, maintain that he is guilty and must continue to pay his debt to society. February 6th is the International Day of Solidarity with Leonard Peltier. Should he be granted clemency?
Guests:
Lenny Foster (Diné) – program supervisor for the Navajo Nation Corrections project and volunteer spiritual advisor for the state and federal prison system, and Leonard Peltier’s spiritual advisor
Peter Clark – co- director of the International Leonard Peltier Defense Committee

Please release this man Leornad Peltier from the unfair atrocities that have been ignored for to long. There is no positive evidence against him, He is being held prisoner only because of his beliefs . And for standing up for our people. He is of no danger to society! He has served his time 100 times over and all without any violence. We are a peaceful people. This has been proven time and time again.

Our people have sacrificed enough, or lives, our solidarity, our blood, sweat, tears in the very name this country prides itself upon FREEDOM. Leonard is no exception, he stood up for his people like our military does every single day and becomes a criminal for doing such.
The man is due Clemancy and it’s about time someone other than his people see this!
