This month Native art and talent are beaming in our monthly literary spotlight. The Seventh Native American Generation (SNAG) publication is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special edition titled “SNAG: A Decade of Indigenous Media.” In this hour, we learn about this group’s mission and hear why they are dedicated to helping Native youth find their strength through cultural expression. NAC senior producer Monica Braine will host a discussion tomorrow about recording our family stories.

Have you researched your family history? What did you find?

Monica’s great-great-grandmother, Josephine McCarthy Waggoner, researched the history of her family and tribe. Waggoner also interviewed over 60 chiefs from various tribes, including
Lame Deer, Sitting Bull and Rain in the Face.
