President Obama continues to grant commutations and pardons to convicted low level drug offenders and others before he leaves office. Last-minute pardons are common for presidents in recent years. Will President Obama grant Leonard Peltier clemency? Many activists and organizations, including Amnesty International, are calling for his release. All of Peltier’s options in court are exhausted, and clemency is his only option. But law enforcement advocates and others maintain Peltier is guilty and should stay in prison.

Leonard Peltier is only dangerous because he tells the truth. He does not, and never has, belonged in prison. Please grant him clemency now. It is the right thing to do.

Grant him his peace we ultimately are not the judges its been what 40 years ? Mr. Peltier has served probably 14 convicted peoples terms ? Thats insane ? We are not in Iraq for goodness sakes quit torturing him let him spend his last days with his family

On December 21, 2016, on “Democracy Now!”, an independent global news program, Martin Garbus, one of the country’s leading trial lawyers and lead counsel for Leonard Peltier was interviewed. He said, “President Clinton, we understand, was about to grant clemency. And when that happened, the FBI staged a demonstration outside of the White House, 500 men with guns—first time that has ever been done. Clinton withdrew back.”
My question is how can anyone, FBI or not, get away with threatening the president and what exactly does the FBI have to gain by keeping Leonard Peltier in jail?
