The protest grows in size by the day at the spot where Energy Transfer Partners aims to break ground on the Dakota Access Pipeline. The protesters near the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation hope to stop the momentum toward building the nearly 1,200-mile pipeline carrying crude oil from the Bakken oil fields to Illinois. Protesters set up at the Camp of the Sacred Stones are raising awareness of the issue, filling social media with videos. Meanwhile, lawyers on both sides are battling for their cause in the courts. Will pipeline opponents’ outcry change the outcome?

Jon Eagle Sr. (Hunkpapa Lakota) – Tribal Historic Preservation Officer for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe
Break Music: Cauyaqa Nauwa (song) Pamyua (artist) Caught In The Act (album)

Needs vs wants, and Mni shosee or Missouri river is a need with no Dakotaaccesspipeline. Proud to follow on social media my facebook family & friends their involvement. Sad to see barriers, rumors from media that Native nations are armed, blockades to access roads/media towers. Natives over 2000, flags galore, Horsenation prayer rider, native and non native celebs, comedians, Billy Mills. Very proud & humbled. Respect the water.

I am doing everything I can to get public support for the defense of Standing Rock .The media is ignoring my messages.I have messaged @POTUS @BarackObama @Whitehouse to stop this illegal entry into reservation land but I do not think the Presidents promises to the Lakota were genuine. Stay strong. NoDAPL.
