I enjoyed listening to your program on my way back to Dixon from Española. My mother was a professor of reading education in the 70s, 80s and 90s and was quite involved with the California and International Reading Associations. So I heard a lot about how to teach reading. As a middle and high school history/geography teacher I would employ a variety of techniques to improve reading and writing. One of my mother’s students was a Creek/Choctaw teacher in South Central Los Angeles who started a reading program there. He and my mother eventually wed and I often heard about new and improved methods for teaching reading. But I really did not hear much about Native literature. I just forwarded the program to our librarians at the Embudo Valley Library. Thank you for sharing!
