Activists are publicly deriding an online clothing store called “The Spunky Squaw.” The business has been around more than a year, but was reviled on social media only recently. The business owner, a college student, is holding her ground, insisting the term ‘squaw’ is not offensive. We’ll examine the history and current meaning of the word with historians and activists.

Hello my name is Patrick Little Wolf Brooks and I’m the one that posted videos and really light the fire underneath this subject. For anyone in today’s society to think it is okay to use that terminology is out of their mind it is disgusting and derogatory and I for once as an indigenous person will not let our women be disrespected in this manner. Facebook has currently throwing me in jail for speaking out about it and posted my videos on my feelings about this subject but they will not sell it to me I’m the most feared thing in today’s society and that’s an educated native
