Most, if not all, of the DAPL harassment, violence, and countless racist acts and behaviors of non-Indian North Dakotans are prohibited and illegal under federal civil rights laws. Given that the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe or members have been involved in two major and recent Indian Civil Rights matters (Keepseagle v. Glickman USDA racial discrimination, and the UND Fighting Sioux mascot matter), why aren’t Natives asserting their Indian civil rights under these laws? Do you think it is because Indian Country is unaware they exist, or do you think Natives do not want to be labeled as a racial group eligible for federal protection, and if so, why not? A racial discrimination complaint can and should be lodged with the ACOE for moving DAPL from Bismarck to the reservation boundary, and an investigation will likely include findings of illegal racial discrimination. Remedies exist. Thank you.

(With respect) Many of us have found there to be a confusing conflict of leadership direction ( in a nutshell, ) regarding Chairman Dave’s thanking people and telling them it’s time to go home now , then a totally opposite direction from Chase Iron Eyes and Waniya Locke, among others, telling people to STAY. ~ can you… would you please comment on this? It’s been troublig to many of us, as it’s hard to know who is in charge, and who’s lead to follow.
Thank you.
Sincerely
