The appointment of Kaya Jones as the Native American representative on a diversity panel ignited a firestorm of pushback, especially on social media. In her role she will ostensibly offer advice on reaching Native voters for the National Diversity Coalition for Trump, a private organization working on behalf of the president. Jones claims to have Apache heritage, but no Apache tribe claims her and her lineage is otherwise unconfirmed. We’ll sort out the facts and try to figure out how one journalist ended up in a heated Twitter argument with Cher.

This is just plain wrong I don’t like it at all even if Kaya could prove that she was native she still couldn’t represent all five hundred and 67 tribes that’s one thing alright she claims to be Apache well there are like several Apache tribes and they’re scattered throughout the Southwest and each Apache tribe is different you’re the Mescalero the jicarilla the Lipan San Carlos Apache Tonto Apache plains Apache yavapai-apache and others so the Apache nation is diverse she doesn’t even know that so even if she were to be able to prove that she was Apache which Apache tribe is she from there are several Apache tribes out there jicarilla Mescalero lapan White Mountain plains Apache Tonto it’s okay to find your roots because I’m want to do that as well I’m hoping to find my relatives in the Eastern band of Cherokee even if I could become a tribal citizen I still couldn’t represent all Cherokees because I’m not a government official you have to be a government official in order to represent the tribe you have to be from the tribe and a government official

This Kaya girl is clueless and is not informed enough to represent one tribe, let alone 567! She has strong alt right ties and is very cruel with her words to other natives. Kaya also has no problem joining with Trump to slander Matoaka and our Vets! I’ve heard that Kaya has played “dark games” by a woman who used to work with her! I would rather have an elder or anyone with knowledge for Native Americans!Kaya her 15mins of fame is up! Kaya is racist and dismissive and not qualified!
Julius Dennis says
I agree it should be an elder that should represent the native nations
Julius Dennis says
